Grained leather and calf suede are cut into panels and laid against each other across the upper. The leather carries a raised pebbled grain that catches the light, the suede a soft matte nap that absorbs it, so the shoe shifts between the two as it moves. Tonal stitching runs along every join, marking where one becomes the other.

Slip-On Construction

The lacing sits deep in the panels and sets the fit, so the shoe is slipped on rather than tied each time. The upper closes against the foot on its own and holds without anything to fasten, the collar soft and the panels running clean from toe to heel. A leather tab at the heel gives the hand something to take hold of.
